I had not realized I went through customs when I arrived in Frankfurt. There were no lines and since I can't speak or understand German, they were quite nice. Melissa picked me up and we went to drop my stuff off at her place before we went for dinner. I had a smoked wheat beer, which is apparently only common in this area and it was delicious. It's place is scarring me for life on beer. We walked up to the Nuremberg Castle to look around. Then we worked our way down through Hauptmarkt. It apparently has served as a market center since medieval times. There is a ring in this ornate statue situation which you can spin. Depending on the way you spin the ring you will have good luck for one year or, alternatively, get pregnant. Now, we watched people spin it and the couple ahead of us spun it clockwise. We thought that must be the correct way to spin it for good luck...hindsight is always 20/20. Perhaps that couple really wanted children...

Anyways, time will tell I guess. My mother did inform me she wanted to one day be a grandmother, but this was not the way she wants it. Beggars can't be choosers.

Other observations:
Fanny packs are a thing and the men love to wear them.
There is a strong punk rock influence in people. And they have dogs.
They bike or walk everywhere, which is awesome, and you can walk down the middle of the road and its not a big deal.

I spent today exploring Hauptmarkt area practicing my German "Sprechen sie Englisch?" I'm getting good at that one. Tonight Akansha comes in and I believe we are going to a meet-up where we can practice our English. Exciting, at least I'll succeed at this!

Tomorrow I will use Akansha shamelessly to get less awkward pictures of people and maybe we will go museuming or more exploring in a different area. Then it is off to Prague!

Update you soon!
