After xmas and the bull fights
Trip Start Jul 05, 2005
47Trip End ??? ??, 2006
Anyway, I was busy going through all the paper I had to read before I got to SC and thought he was probably stuck up anyway. We took off and next thing you know, we were chatting up a storm. Len,the hottie, turned out to be a normal, nice guy. The cute factor helped, but overall, he seemed like a cool guy to hang out with. We talked about everything from our families to our significant others, or lack thereof in my case. Either way, I didn't end up reading what I was suppose to read and Len didn't read his book. But, in the end, we both entertained each other and had a fun ride to Atlanta. We parted ways in Atlanta and exchanged emails.
After SC, I took off for Vegas to visit a friend. The weekend was really good. We saw a play, had dinner, went riding in the Nevada mountains and just hung out. Vegas was much nicer than I remembered, but then again I didn't stay in Vegas the whole time. Either way, a nice weekend.
Anyway, I got back to Colombia and I was happy to get home
After the demob, I went to dinner with my good friend, Adel (Thanks Gemma!). We had thai food and talked about our vacations and promised to be each others valentine if no other prospects arose. I hate valentine's day anyway! Adel and I always have a good time together.
Saturday I drove (yup without my driver) to La Calera which was beautiful. It was sunny and beautiful that day and on the way back I went horseback riding
Today, Sunday, Adel and I went to lunch and then went to the opening day of the bullfights (yeah, just like baseball)! I must admit that I was initially horrified by the killing of the bull and the fact that the first bull did a summersault(sp) on his horns. After I got over the violence of the sport, it was really beautiful. The matadors are so talented and the dance of the bulls and the bullfighter is artistic and beautiful. The bad part was that we were sitting on concrete slabs and there were people smoking and drinking out of "botas" (leather pouches in the shape of a boot). The enviorment was cool, but the smoking wasn't. I felt the need to experience the bullfights because it was something that is very popular here and it's seasonal. Since i don't know whether i'll be here next January, I always feel the need to experience everthing when the opportunity arises.
Well, enough for now...work is calling and it's going to be a busy week. I don't really have any pictures, except the ones of the demobilization on Friday and the bullfight on Sunday,so i'll include the appropriate ones.
Miss you all!
