Well, I survived!!! This past week, I had the pleasure and at times, the pain of escorting (no, not that kind of escorting) 10 Colombian Judges to the US, NYC in particular for an observational visit to the courts. Needless to day, the trip was a huge success! Even better than I ever imagined. The judges arrived on Sunday, October 30. Unfortunately, they had a lot of trouble getting to NYC. The flights were delayed, the luggage compartment on the plane wouldn't open and then, they were sent to Kennedy. Good thing I'm a savy NYer and was able to figure all this out and was at the airport to meet them. They were so happy, but very exhausted. We made it to our hotel in the city by about 12:30 midnight. Ughhh!

The next day, Monday, halloween we started off by visiting my old stomping ground, the Queens DA's office. The DA was wonderful as was everyone else! They really made a big deal about the judges and it was great. The judges loved the tours of the courtrooms, watching trials. Later that night, we went to the Greenwhich Village Day Parade and it was awesome. We didn't teally get a chance to see the parade itself, but there was so much going on outside that it rocked!!

After that we went to the appellate division and again were welcomed with open arms. We visited Federal court as well, but one of their favorite things was the NYPD harbor ride that a friend of mine arranged. It was fabulous! We got a private ride and saw the statue of liberty and ellis island. Super!

Our visit ended up with a wonderful party thrown by the Latino Lawyers of Queens. They were honoring a female hispanic federal judge, but it seemed like the were honoring the Colombian Judges. They felt like movie stars.

Anyway, I am going to put some pictures on the net. The judges were pretty cool. We had a really good time. I realized how much I really missed NY. Maybe I'll move back!!

Oh, did I mention that my sister, Marcy (from Italy) was in NYC too while I was there?? It was great to see her again. She was escorting(again, not that way) a group of aerobatic pizza makers to the pizza convention at the Javitz Center. Can you imagine???

Anyway, bye for now!!! Come visit!!It's great here!
