En-route to Christchurch we stopped at Lake Tekapo, a pretty lake with a church on it, and stretched our legs. When we arrived the sun was out so we managed to get a couple of hours by the pool at the hostel. No camping for 3 whole nights!

We had a night out and a bit of a dance, quite good fun.

Christchurch is lovely, really like it here.

The following day to our dismay the clouds were out so we went punting (very relaxing as we didn't actually do the punting), watched a street entertainer who was very funny but also rude, they are very un pc here and swear a lot!

The final day dawned hot and sunny so we sunbathed until lunch when the clouds came out. Later that afternoon we went for a drive to what we thought was a nearby town, after driving for over an hour we still hadn't arrived and neither had we passed any petrol stations, we finally found a petrol station but it was closed. We asked at a bakery where the next one was, answer: far away! So he sold us some emergency petrol that he kept for people like us (damsels in distress)! We finally found the place we were aiming for (and we could probably have made it there with the petrol we already had), it was quite pretty but everything was closed! We drove around trying to find some dinner, everything was closed! Eventually found a little pub which did nice food, so we sat there and ate, watched TV and chatted to the owners, very pleasant!
