After the tour we headed to Pahia and stayed at a campsite which was by the Huaru falls, was lovely to be able to see the falls as you wondered around. And yes this time we did put up our tent (with a little help from a child but am sure we could have done it ourselves). There are mosquitos everywhere and I keep getting bitten, I was told by the kiwi we met in SA that there weren't any, if I ever see him again there will be trouble!
The following day we pottered around the town and caught the ferry to another small place called Russel where I had an iced coffee with cream and ice cream on the top! We then headed back to the camp site and as the sun was shining we sunbathed and swam. There was also a trampoline so being the kid I am I had a bounce although Simona forbade me from doing somersaults. In the evening we took a kyak out and went up to the falls and around, was really nice but got very wet!

Our next destination was Whangarei. We stopped off to visit the famous Hundertwasser toilets, I apologise for the photo, and visited Whangarei falls which were quite pretty but I think I have seen enough falls for awhile. We then pitched our tent, yes our 3rd night camping, and headed to Whangarei Heads which is a series of bays, the weather was not good enough to enjoy them (it rained for most of the day)!
Had a bit of a sulk because I reacted to one of my many bites so my wrist and hand have swollen and hurt. The pharmacist recommended taking anti-histamine which I already have been taking so she advised me to see a doctor. Luckily the next day it had gone down so hopefully I will be ok. I now cover myself in insect repellant!
Today I am by myself as Simona has gone diving, was quite nice to chill out and have a lazy morning in the tent before heading into town. It is quite strange being by myself after all this time. Again it is raining, it is like a British summer!
