Well here I am in New Zealand and absolutely love it.
Unfortunately we were delayed in Santiago but made it here ok, even though we did lose a day due to the time difference. Unfortunately during our last night in Santiago we were bitten by bed bugs and reacted to them so had to take anti-histamines, the bites were very itchy which was not good on a 14hr plane journey!
It was so strange when we arrived here and everyone was talking to us in English, I kept saying si and gracias, and we can throw toilet paper down the toilet! It is such a culture shock being here more than it was flying to South America.

After pottering around Auckland's town centre and being amazed at how expensive eveything is, we went to meet who we call my great Aunt (Margaret) but think she is actually our 2nd cousin. She drove us round showing us the sights and taking us out for dinner by the water. Her and her husband have been absolute stars as they have lent us their car for the 2 months (number plate O2B 18!) and their beach house in the North Island for a couple of weeks. Also as it is so expensive here they and her daughter have helped us sort out camping gear, yes we are going to camp!
