Arrived in Santiago (took nearly 2 hours to cross the border), staying in a lovely hostel overlooking the plaza. We met up with Nina who is flying to NZ with us, Herdy is already there as he could not get on our flight.
We now have 12 Chile and 12 Argentina stamps in our passports from the constant border crossings we seem to have done.
On Sunday we wondered around Santiago, our flight is 11pm tonight and we arrive in NZ on Tuesday morning!

So I shall be saying goodbye to South America and will be very sad to do so. I came to SA not particularly bothered about seeing here and with no expectations. Well I now love SA and will definitely be returning. There are so many places to see and the places differ so much in their people, scenery, things to do and weather 01 View of the plaza from our hostel.

. The majority of people are very helpful.
I have just about got used to going out so late and returning in the early hours of the morning. Have even got used to the long bus journeys, was surprised at how nice the buses are even if quite a few have huge cracks on the windscreens! Other things about SA: when you order a coffee you also get a glass of water, with every meal you get bread and a sauce (the sauce depends on the country), I keep borrowing sugar from cafes for my tea back at the hostels and often borrow toilet paper when I leave as many places donīt provide toilet paper. Will not miss having to put toilet paper in the bin, what a novelty it will be in NZ being able to flush toilet paper!
So farewell South America, I am very sad to be leaving, and New Zealand here I come!
