Planned to leave San Martin and cross over to Chile but the bus was fully booked so we travelled 40 minutes to Junin. Arrived in Junin and the rain stopped for at least 2hrs, very exciting. Junin again is very small so wondered around for an hour or so, then returned to the hostel for lunch. After lunch and a rest as so far weŽd had a very taxing day (!) we went out in the rain to see the river which was overflowing, the lampposts were in the water. After getting very wet, headed back to the hostel where once again we spent the evening reading.
Our trainers would not dry as there was no heating and our room was very cold, so we took it in turns drying them with a hairdryer!
