Another bus trip in the rain brought us to Puerto Varas, another tiny little place by a huge lake. Went for a walk by the lake in the rain. Back at the hostel I went to make a cup of tea and as I usually do in South America I boiled the water on the hob, then a man walked in and turned the electric kettle on, I felt a bit stupid with my pan of water bubbling away!
We decided to take a trip to a place called Cochamo, about 2hrs away. After about 2hrs the bus driver told us that we were there but looked a bit strange, once we got off we realised that we were not actually in the town as he had forgotten to drop us off and had driven past it. We saw a sign for a tourist place so headed that way down a muddy path and over a rope bridge that was suspended above a big stream. When we arrived the lady informed us that the bus had dropped us in the wrong place and we had to walk an hour to get to the town. So a bit annoyed we set off but in fact we had a lovely walk as the sun was shining and the views were lovely, lakes and mountains. We arrived in Cochamo which is absolutely tiny, basically one road, a couple for shops and cafes. We ate lunch in the sun by the lake then hopped back on the bus to Puerto Varas. That night I was quite happy reading my book and stroking the cat (which I think had fleas) when the cat snuggled up to my neck and bit me (didn`t pierce the skin), this is why I dislike cats! I finally try and be nice to one and get bitten in return!

Tomorrow we head back to Argentina.
