Woke up nice and early to the still raining Argentina! Caught a bus for 6hrs to Posadas which is on the border of Argentina and Paraguay. It was not a fun journey as we were on a local rickety bus that stopped constantly for the locals to jump on and off so the journey took for ever. Also I decided that I needed the toilet only to be told that the toilet was out of use, I was not impressed and according to Simona I made that clear by the look I gave the bus conductor! It canīt have been that bad a look because a little while later we stopped and he told me I could go to the toilet if I hurried!
At Posadas we caught another local bus to the Argentina customs to exit Argentina, then another bus to Paraguay customs (Steve left us here as he needed a visa to get in whereas we did not)and then a 3rd bus to Encarnacion, Paraguay. Getting on these buses was not fun as the steps were huge so were not easy to get up with a huge backpack and day pack Jesuit reduccion and us!
Jesuit reduccion and us!
! Also the buses were very busy and the locals did not feel the need to let us on! When we finally got off at Encarnacion 2 kids decided it would be fun to bash into Simonaīs backpack, we didnīt find it as amusing as they did (Katie, do you think this is their version of push Caroline into the students?)!
We found a hotel with a little restaurant next door to it which was run by an old Chinese man. We sat down and waited, after about 5 minutes he got up and walked half way to me before deciding I was too far away so put the menu down on the middle table for me to collect! Once we finished eating we decided to be nice and tidy the table, return our plates to him and pay at the counter, to save him the walk! The food was very good.
The next day Steve turned up and the 3 of us went to the Jesuit reduccion, it was very impressive.
And that was our stay in Pargauay, only went to get another stamp in our passports and because it was very cheap, our room only cost one pound and fifty pence and toilet paper was 5p!
