After a 6hr bus journey, I arrived in Arica, Chile. Was quite a good journey as got breakfast (biscuits and coffee) and lunch (chicken and pasta like you get on a plane, I added ketchup as Nina and Herdy had stolen some for me from Burger King!). Also at one moment we were travelling past snow capped mountains and there was snow right next to us, I fell asleep and when i awoke we were by sand dunes and it was sunny!
Arica is very pretty, it is by the sea and nice and warm in the day, nights still abit chilly but nothing compared to Bolivia. Simona and I took a long walk along the sea front, cliffs and smelly fish factory (slightly deserted area) to see a sea lion colony, the sea lions were quite far away but was quite cool with lovely views ( and we needed the exercise!). The sun was shining and wind was blowing so feeling slightly wind burnt!
Now we have left the lads behind its back to being constantly whistled at by men/boys as we walk down the street (unless Herdy is with us)and they like to hiss at you! Chile is better than other places we have been to in the sense that the taxis are not constantly beeping and cars actually stop for you to cross the road!
Tomorrow we fly to Santiago. I am still finding it strange how many places I am seeing in such a short time.
