So we kept the RV parked in the nearby (American Canyon) Walmart parking lot and got settled in. It wasn't long before security came by to tell us to leave. We tried to get permission from the store manager but alas we got the boot. No worries. The Safeway parking lot down the street will suffice. We needed to get some grocery shopping done anyway.
A few boring facts.... we picked up, I think 46 TV stations with the aerial antennae! We've been jonesing for some TV after a couple of months of having 1 channel come through. I'm running (2) 6 volt batteries in parallel. This gives us plenty of power for dry camping. I rigged up a 750 watt inverter so no need to start the generator every time we want to watch TV or a movie. We just run an extension cord to the power strip, under our bathroom sink, that connects to the inverter, which I placed near the battery compartment in the basement. This means I just flick a switch and we have 110 power! Beats the hell out of dragging a generator out every time. Of course this is not enough watts to carry our ac unit so the generator will be coming out when we reach the southern states.
