Anyway we flew out on the tinest death trap of a plane (you could see the cockpit less than a metre from reach!) to Goroka, then another one to Lai and then another to Madang........it was a long day of flying. I felt sick initially and then got over it. it was amazing scenery from the tiny plane and no security which was wierd, just hopped on and off for 10mins each stop. an experience.

We landed in Madang to a terminal which was a shed, with no pick up from our hotel Jais Aben, but the airline called them and the manager picked us up. Jais Aben is a resort 20 mins out of Madang where chad stayed many times with his family in the 80s/90s. he thoght it might be run down but we got a great bungalow which was new with air con, cos my god was it hot! stinking hot, mum`s weather!! felt like an oven. The resort was on the water front, very nice, interesting cos there is little beach in PNG, well this area anyway, the jungle comes right up to the water, the resort had made a little beach front (tiny) but that was it, you pretty much jumped right in. The water was lovely, quite warm but not hot. Stunning coral from the moment you get in )had to be very careful snorkelling cos the coral was so close). Lovely fish life too, hundreds of varieties. We swam and chilled most days (we were there for 3nights, which was enough for 2 busy bees like us).

On our second last day we got them to drop us off at a remote island for a few hours which was where the incident occurred (proposal :) Stunning island but swarming with mozzies!! spent 2 hours in the water snorkelling to avoid them!! but still we eventually got out, not before ol matey nelt in the water and proposed. very funny. i looked hideous with a snorkel mask indentation on the face and no makeup!! i am surprised he follwed through!! ha ha!   ok this is very long, so will end it now, we flew out to Japan on 25 and arrived in Tokyo the same day!! time zones! Now at the snow, and about to train to Tokyo today till Monday and then fly to NY Monday.
