Day 3: Signed up for Beach Day with the peeps from the hostel! Soo excited. So we all hop in the van and off we go to Safeway! ahaha. Frickin Safeway! We got some drinks and snacks and they gave us all a popsicle! The drive was about 45 min and we were at Makena Park. Its actually the most famous beach in Maui. All the stars and celebrities actually frequent this beach. didn't see any though. They did say that Arnold Schwartzeneger was there the week before. We started out just max-relaxing on Big Beach which was this huge expanse of white sand and crystal clear blue water and sweltering heat. The sun always shines on this side of the island. We watched the skim boarders and surfers playing around in the beach breaks. Then it was off to Little Beach. aka Naked Beach! haha. This was a nude beach that the hippies love! naked old dudes everywhere! i kept my bathing suit on and so did chad! We spent the rest of the afternoon here sun tanning, drawing, swimming and smelling the 2nd hand gonja that frequented the air. haha. this crazy girl from Vancouver who was staying at the hostel was wasted on white wine and climbing trees in the buff! Pretty soon the sun started to set and the drums started beating! Wow it was intense. I guess every sunday for the past 20 years or so people come to little beach to play the drums and fire dance! ya hoo. The fire dancing was amateur, the naked dancers were pretty crazy flinging their fire sticks around their bits and pieces. Around 7 we packed up and hit the road back to the hostel. We had to pick up aids and colin at the airport. They showed up around 8:00 and it was so crazy to see them there in hawaii when we had just made this plan a couple days ago. They were tired and hungry so we headed to a thai restaurant by the hostel and had a eff sweet supper. Back to Paia again to the beach for a brew. It was super windy and kinda cold so we headed back. We gave them the tour of the hostel and since we were all tired and excited to do cool stuff the next day we headed off to bed, not before a few shots of celebritory tequila we bought at the drug store for 12 dollars! yay.
