Finally!!!!! I can't believe I'm here; this city is so beautiful! After eight hours sitting on an uncomfortable chair (what's up with the leg room? I'm not tall, and I struggled the whole way) we landed at 8:00 a.m. and I am more than ready to experience the magic of the city. We took the train from the airport to the city, once we got to the city we decided to take a break, and a cold Heineken would do it! We sat in a little café and enjoy the cold beer. Then we went to the Ann Frank Museum; the experience was very touchy. I can't imagine how they manage to lived in such a small annex for so long. I remember the place that I had created in my mind while reading the book and it was very close to the actual thing. From there we went to our hotel, the anticipation to see our room almost made me forget that we are in vacations, and if the place is not as beautiful as it seemed in the pics is ok. We came here to have a good time, not to sit in a hotel room; nevertheless, the place was a cozy as the pics. Our room has an excellent view of the plaza and the bathroom is very clean.
After leaving our bags in the room, we went for a walk in the red light district. The place is beautiful, and at the same time is weird. It is almost like window shopping for women. It was almost sad to see them stuck behind the glasses, doing their "sexy dance" to catch attention, to get a client. It made me wonder how their lives are, what they think, and how they got into the sex business. Woo, too much thinking into this social problem. At night we had dinner in a very nice and teasty Argentinean restaurant called Los Gauchos. The food was phenomenal, although a little bit pricy and of course I had to give shit to Chris about it "we are here to see things, not to expend our money in good food." Now I feel bad, we are here to enjoy life and our vacation, and to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, so if we can afford to have a semi-expensive dinner I promised Chris I won't give him shit about it again.
Caro & Chris!
