We have left the rocky shore of Espanola and have arrived at the white sand beaches of Floreana. This is a favourite nesting place of the green sea turtle and they are everywhere. Unfortunately we can not swim along this beach as the sting rays are just as fond of this beach and hide in the sand a few feet off the shore. Snorkelling was also fantastic as we visited the Devil's Crown and got a closer look at the sea turtles. Floreana is also home to the first "post office" of the Galapagos, whalers placed a barrel off the beach and it was customary for any ship coming to or leaving the island to stop by the barrel and take any mail and deliver it. Today the tradition is up held by the tourists. The barrel is filled with post cards and letters and if you find one from your area your suppose to drop it in the mail or hand deliver it when you get home. This was also the site of our first lava tunnel.
