Not much to report this week folks, I scored another hat-trick in the weekly game but sadly the ROTW team went down 8-4 to he Ecuadorians, I think they played the conditions (torrential thunderstorm) better. I´m in Santo Domingo to buy sdome new trainers - don´t think my hiking boots can take many more games like that.
Speaking of hiking (you´ve gotta love the smooth link there), we went off on another fun hike this week, headed off on the advertised Cate special hike which was supposed to be a nice stroll up the river followed by climbing up the waterfall - this we did, and then came across a second massive (well bigish) waterfall - sadly the rope and harness had disappeared with one of the staff members after teh first one. So we all scrambled up to the fall, getting soaked from head to foot and then realised we couldn´t get up the second fall and so scrambled back down again. On the way we all had a lovely facial with the local mud which is apparently very good for the old skin and then washed it off in the falls.
Other news from the reserve - we´ve had hot water this week - yipee, yep its hot showers all round, until the gas runs out which I predict will be about tuesday...
I´ve been working to map out the reforestation areas this week, trying to keep track of where all our lovely planted trees are. Not easy when lots of the area is covered by 4ft weeds and the compass you´re using is not exactly state of the art - still, think I did the job - my map is a work of beauty, even going to colour it in next week!
Also started on mozzie netting the comon room - the view is lovely but it is somewhat ruined by the frickin mozzies chewing your felshat every opportunity. Never mind.
Heres some photies from the hike.

What exactly is a state of the art compass, Cezza? You hold it. The arrow points north. Here endeth the lesson.
I tried to climb a waterfall once. Nearly broke my jaw. Fairly true to form, really.
Keep on weeding, sir...

Ah your splendid anecdotes don't half cheer me up on a Monday morning. Pishing down 'ere, as it has been for about 17 months non-stop now. Been looking on Sky Sports News for reports of your international matches but all I can see are results of Inter Toto games. One assumes they're non-capped matches, merely 'B' internationals? A bit like when Scotland and New Zealand pick their rugby teams by playing a Possibles v Probables, or a Barbarians game.....I'm rambling, 'tis Monday morning and Bob Geldof was right....tell me why, I don't like...
Take care Rambo
