Thought I'd practise how to do this whole blogging thing before I head off, lucky I did - no idea what my password or login were anymore...

For anyone reading this who didn't hear (who are you?) I did the London Marathon a couple of weeks ago, you probably already saw my name in the papers given that I only narrowly missed out on a top ten thousand spot. However I was first in my name category - destroying the other Ceri Hughes running by a good ten minutes, I also destroyed all the celeb runners like Ramsey, Dawson, Bright, McAndrew, and those girls from Eastenders. I also am now 1-0 up in head to head races with Haile Gebre Selassie who is, and I quote (entry one on google I looked up to  ;find the spelling) "regarded universally as the greatest distance runner of all times. With a career that sees him breaking records as they are made". Selassie didn't even finish,  ;so thats 1-0 to the Hughes. N ow I'm not saying that definitely&n bsp;now makes me the grea test distance runner of all time,&n bsp;but...

One word to descibe the marathon - hot. It was frickin boiling, there were people dropping like flies all over the place. I got to the bit over Tower Bridge Marathon - Tower Bridge
Marathon - Tower Bridge
at about 12/13 miles and saw three African elite runners coming back towards the finish - walking. Thought "thats really not a good sign", and it wasn't. I manged to run for 20 miles then it all went a bit pear shaped, my hopes of sub 4 hours were dashed and I ended up half walking/running the last few miles, ending in 4:15. Heading down the final stretch

Narrowly losing to a frickin Tiger who overtook&nbs p;me on the last corner. Smegg er. Its all over!!!
