I was helped through to the station by Wong and amazed to see what looked like a thousand people waiting to Board the train to Lhasa. They were carrying a myriad of boxes bags etc.
The train takes about 45 hours train journey from Chengdu to Tibet, I shared a cabin with two chinese who spoke no english. They thought everything I did was hilarious. First night slept like a baby fully clothed as I did not want to put on PJ's
As the dawn broke was amazing scenery, all sorts of agriculture. Amazing rods and tunnels all the way. The chinese have built amazing roads out to the nmiddle of no where
at the 1st day wore on the scenery became less developed and into vast plains of nothing, you go through the most wonderful section of Qinghai-Tibet railway, they say the railway took 22,000 people 10 years to build it I would belive it. Night 2 I was feeling the effects of altitude, they gve us a oxygen mask but no oxygen came out snd everyone kept smoking so maybe they did not turn it on. I felt awful, had a reeally bad headache.Day 2
You see land of snow, desert, grassland, ice mountain and travel along the largest and highest lake in the world, the train had to bend on a wide arc to go around it the lakeside is surrounded by Yaks.
Worried bsout how I was to get off the train with a blinding headache I took half a diamox then panadol and when the trin pulled in to Lhasa, I mirraculously was able to get my self off the bed bed and onto the platform dragging my backpack and found the guide waiting for me.
Arrive in Lhasa at 18:38 on the 2nd day
