Hiya,
The first entry from India, we arrived safe and tired yesterday morning.
After catching up on bit of sleep we met the WaterAid India staff and learnt about the country programme. WaterAid India have really grown and now have 3 local offices as well as head office in Delhi. They are working in rural villages, schools and over a hundred urban slums. The work in the rural communities focuses on helping the villages leverage money for water and sanitiation improvements from local government, and we will be able to see this first hand once we arrive in Gwarlior this afternoon.
Last night we were taken to a cultural centre in Delhi which had lots of colourfall stalls selling local handicrafts. Aided by Shilpla (WaterAid India) and her brilliant bartering we had a lovely evening shopping.
Catching an internal flight this afternoon, which should be exciting.
