G'day guys

Well what an exciting morning it was today, well last night actually.I woke up to go to the bathroom, I knew we were scheduled for snow at 1am. I peeked out the window and the whole place was covered in snow! It was falling ever so peacefully. I went back to bed and couldn't stop thinking about it, so I got up and looked again. Ha ha, it was like Christmas. I decided to wait until the morning to go outside. I woke up and ran outside. the snow was still falling. It was such a beautiful site. So pretty. I got Jordan up and we had a snow ball fight. There was not too much snow but enough to throw a few snow balls. Oh it was so cool! I can't believe how much the snow made me happy and excited. Ha ha.

Friday night we had a Halloween pumpkin carving party. It was a pretty small house and the pumpkin carving was done on the porch. It was -1 degrees. Also, everyone had their costumes on so it was super cold out there. I left the carving to Jordan, as we didn't actually have a pumpkin.Anyway so we danced and ate cookies and I decided not to drink as I had culturefest the next day. The party was pretty mellow and we bailed pretty early to get some sleep. Jordan seemed to have drunk a bit, as he had mega head spins. He couldn't get to sleep. Ha ha! Too funny.

The next morning I got up and rode to the farmers market, the usual Saturday tradition for veggies and seafood. I got fish and prawns and a bunch of other stuff. Oh milk to. Everything is fresh from the farm and locally made. Its good to support the Maine farmers. Next it was off to the university for culturefest.

Culturefest was in gym. They had stalls set up around the entire gym for country exhibits.
At the end of the gym they had all the food stalls. There was so much food. Great Britain, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Serbia.... so much to choose from. It was time to set up the stall. One of the professors from the university husband donated heaps of Aussie things to the table. I also had my brother send a bunch of stuff. We had calenders, books, koalas, kangaroos, platypuses, kookaburras, timtams, Vegemite, fantails, flags, Aussie slang books and posters. I also had my laptop with a slide show of Aussie pics with Aussie songs playing... such as Johnny Farnham, Gangagangs, INXS, crowded house...Evey thing Aussie was on that table. It looked great. Our table was the brightest and funnest table of the entire exhibition. The crowd came in at 11am and it was a flat out day. People, young and old and from all different nationalities were coming to the table and asking questions. Some were so totally stoked to be talking to an Australian. It was funny as. A couple from Sydney came to the table (one is studying at Maine) and gosh hearing their accent was the best thing! We chatted for ages and they helped man the exhibit while we grabbed a curry for lunch. Proper curry made by the Indian food team. Next it was off to start a cricket game with the kids. I left Jordan to that. But still helped out, getting the kiddies involved. The table was a great success and by far the busiest exhibit! Good old Australia. It was fun walking around to all the other exhibits and getting to know all the other international students culture.

We rode home, had a rest and scooted off to the pub for a quick dinner before the hockey started.

We were then off to the Ice Hockey match last. What a lot of fun that is.
As stated in previous posts the Hockey is full of excitement. Everyone gets involved and claps and does special dance moves to the band, Ha ha. Maine won 2, 1.  Well It was a pretty long day and it was off to bed.

Today I have been studying for my Neuroscience exam. So it's been a pretty boring day. We did get out for a walk in the snow. Pretty exciting! Tomorrow is Halloween, we will be dressing up again and heading to the pub for a party put on by a frat house. Its going to be cold walking in -2 degrees in a cheerleader costume. But toasty in the pub.
Jordan is off on Thursday!!! I can't believe it.

Ok, back to the study guys.
Missing home, missing family and missing doggies!!
