What I did
It's been a busy week!
I had my first prelims of the semester and feel very confident of my grades.
I have been at uni all day from 7am till 6 studying. I usually have to go back to uni 2 or 3 times
for meetings or events. So my bike and my legs are getting a bit of a work out.
This week we lost our game of Frisbee. We played the 'pro team' who has a coach and they
were so serious. It's Frisbee for christ sake. Anyway we still had allot of fun paying out on them and playing. Jordan has hurt his ankle from playing to hard
The life of Frisbee hey. Serious stuff.
Today I got picked up and taken to Puckerbrush Farm - http://www.puckerbrushfarm.com/default.htm.
This place is beautiful. It is a 30 minute drive and than................... paradise.
The farm has about 25-30 horses, an indoor arena, several paddocks, goats and veggies!
I had my first lesson and I did everything from start to finish (which I am not use to).
I was riding Vincent, a beautiful, big brown horse. I had to brush him down, clean his feet and put his bridle on. Next it was off to the ring. I have not ridden for 2 months and I was a little nervous.
The other 3 girls I was riding with all own horses and have been riding since they were 6!
They were all really supportive. Anyway so off I go trotting and I feel am I doing great.
However the position is not what I am use to, and my legs needed to be in more of a bow shape
This took me a while to get use to and I finally manged to feel comfortable at the end.
We were riding for over an hour. Next I was able to take Vincent back to the paddock and meet some of the other horses. The farm is beautiful. Lots of trees (walking trail) than open space and horse roaming free! The horses are so friendly and all get along. The horses are very big too!
Next, I helped Beccy take some horses down to the barn for the next lesson.
She showed me her horse- the biggest, most handsomest horse I have ever seen.
What a great experience..... and I have a lesson every Wednesday now!
On the way home from riding the girls wanted to stop for a drink.
We stopped at the gas station and the girls (all skinny) got a pizza, bag of chips, pringles and coke.
I was like ohh ok? The pizza was eaten before we left the gas station, while we were waiting in line to pay.
Not what I was expecting after horse riding
Anyway these girls like to eat.
I got home and I was off to my equestrian meeting, where we took our group photograph.
When I arrived home, Jordan had announced he is going to Vancouver for a week!
He will meet up with his 2 friends Mike and Liam. The boys arrived in Canada today and are staying at a backpackers! Jordan will be leaving on 5th October. He will get the bus to Boston.
Stay overnight than fly to Vancouver. When Jordan returns I will meet him in Boston for the weekend, than we will get the bus back together. Or If my parents are keen to come.
We will hire a car and all drive back together. Jordan is really excited to see his friends and Vancouver! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous of him.
I know he will have the best time.
Tomorrow night Jordan and I are playing tennis with two European girls we met
Than we are off to the pub with our Frisbee team.
Really we should be practicing not drinking. But oh well!
My parents arrive on Saturday and we will meet them at the airport.
On Sunday I have been asked to help out at the Dressage Meet.
There are 5 other university's coming to the farm to compete.
My job is to keep the horses hot.
So I have to walk and run them around- keep them moving.
I am really looking forward to it! It will be my first ever horse show and am glad to be helping out.
Well guys, we are really starting to love this place.
I will take my camera to the farm on Sunday and post some pics of the beaut horses!!!!!!
I was really in heaven today.
Missing you all.
