Hey Guys

We went on a hiking trip yesterday with a friend from my class. The hike is Gulf Hagus and was really pretty. We had no idea what to expect and didn't really know the difficulty of the hike.
All we were told was to bring a camera, towel and some lunch. It would have been nice if we took some sandals to cross the river! The rocks were so slippery and rough. Anyway it was a great day, it took us over an hour to get there and we were off.

There was 8 of us and it was single file majority of the hike. We stopped at every view point, which meant going down really awkward and uneven spots down the rocks. But it was well worth it, looking at the waterfalls. We also passed other people doing the Appalachian Trial (as Gulf Hagus is a part of Appalachian Trail). Other people were taking their toddlers on their backs and watching them cross the river was funny as. Also passed a lot of dogs on the hike and that was good too. The day went for ages..... and I was getting pretty tiered. The track was getting wet and muddy,  and if you went paying attention you landed right in the mud and tripped. Both Jordan and my shoes were totally black! We will need to invest in some hiking shoes.

The hike was a loop, which meant we had to cross 2 rivers on the way back to get back to the start. This was really hard, as your feet were all wet from stepping in the mud and you have to take your shoes off and walk on the rocks which are slippery as. Your feet are really sore as all the rubbing! Anyway we made it back and it was a great day seeing Maine and meeting new people. We got dropped off at the college at 7:30 (so it was a massively long day) and had to ride our bikes home in the freezing cold with wet shorts and wet shoes! It was freezing! We both rode so quickly home that our bums are sore as today!!!

Today we went and played squash at the rec center. It was really fun. We don't really know the proper rules, but we just had a hit and mucked around. We are going to make it a weekly thing. After squash we rode our bikes to Pats (the local cafe) for a top notch brekky.
Jordan had the full breakfast and I had omelet. Now we are planning weekend trips for when my parentols get here. We are looking at going to Boston for the weekend and also Portland.

Later today we will go for a forest walk really close to our house. We went there the other night with Hocus but it was getting dark and we didn't know how long the trek would take us. So we will plan to be walking for 2 hours or where ever the track tacks us.

Tonight we are having drinks at the pub with a lecturer who I met in the first week. She is from Colorado and had moved here with her boyfriend. Finally we are starting to meet people and get out a bit more!

Thinking of everyone!!
