Picked up a convertible from Hollywood and began the 4 hour journey to Las Vegas.
Jordan drove out of LA, thank god! Weaving through 10 lanes of freeway traffic every 50 meters.
I was so glad not to be driving!!
We had the top down, and it was really hot and really scary. After 2 wrong turns we were on our way to Las Vegas!!!
The drive was great because we passed so many rocky hills and it was something we had never experienced before. After driving for 2 hours, I felt like the convertible top needed to be put down.
Jordan persisted that we leave it open... I was dying of heat.
I was now in the drivers seat and it was scary!!!!!! I did pretty good though and drove all the way into Las Vegas Blvd, where I totally freaked (cried) and wanted JJ to drive. I had to do a U turn at a massive intersection to get to Monte Carlo but I was really scared as the lanes are like 6 across....
Anyway made it to Monte Carlo.
Monte Carlo was great, had a room on the 30Th floor and was suppose to have a view of the strip, but we didn't. The view was of the freeway and the traffic coming into Las Vegas, the airport and a few other hotels. This was still quite spectacular.
Settled in and went down to the Casino, where we ended up at the roulette table (where Jordan frothed, could not get him away from it). We ended up having a few drinks and met 2 people from Perth. Fancy that!!! We were glad.
We ended up staying out with them until 5 am in the morning drinking, gambling and more drinking. It was time to go to bed
Slept till 9.30am and we needed to take the convertible back by 10:00am or we would have been charged more ridiculous fees. Got up in time and drove the car back and slept the rest of the day.
Next night in Las Vegas was pretty much the same as the first However we ended up at a Karaoke Bar and drunk ourselves silly. We ended up singing 'Wonderwall' in front of a whole casino!! Ha ha. We met some other Aussie guys and they sounded like Paul Hogan- it was hilarious. Now we know what we must sound like. But the accent is refreshing !!! That night something was off, we did not sleep and we ended up at the Craps table at 6:00am. We than took a cab out to the Las Vegas Sign and took photos. We went back to the casino, where I left Jordan and called it a night (at 8:00am).
Ordered room service and went to bed. The next day we flew out of Las Vegas and missed our flight by 30 seconds. We had to get the next flight 2 hours later... Didn't bother me as I was feeling pretty sick and strange, could not be bother to argue to get on the plane.
Lesson learned- arrive 2 hours earlier, not 1 hour!
Plane ride was surprisingly good to New York. Dozed off a few times, but never made it to sleep!!!
After being in Las Vegas, I have come to New York with a cold and not feeling the best!
