After having arrived Friday evening, my private Spanish classes with Estefanía started immediately on Saturday morning! A Dutch girl had recommended her through a forum.

Estefanía and I had corresponded in advance so she could gauge my (self-taught semi-advanced) level. She turned out to be a petite Spanish girl in her late twenties from León in the north of Spain, now living with her boyfriend in Sevilla. And we got along great, she was super funny but also a serious teacher.
I had 3 hours of tutoring per day, it was very tiring but also very rewarding. After a week my head exploded with new knowlegde and it was time to give it a rest and let it sink in!
I bought some Spanish novels to keep practising.

My gay friend Mario from Tenerife had also come to Sevilla for a week, staying in a different hostel. In the evenings after my siestas we would get together and eat and hang out. We also went to a flamenco show and to an arab spa. And we had dinner with Estefanía and her boyfriend Efraim.
It was so nice to spend this week sort of semi-together!

I loved the Alameda del Hércules! It's a long square lined with restaurants, tapas bars, gay bars and other bars. On the square itself young people and families hang out and socialise.
Parque de Maria Luisa is also very nice, a big beautiful park with many arabic features.
Metropol Parasol is the funky modern structure in the centre of Sevilla.

Restaurant Los Coloniales on Plaza Cristo De Burgos 19 is great (not to be confused with Las Columnas, which is fine too... but not as great as Los Coloniales!).
It gets very crowded with locals during lunchtime. I especially loved the grilled aubergine with honey tapa.
