For my wife's um, 29th birthday, ahem, I decided we would take a trip to Chicago to celebrate with our friends and neighbors the Wicks.  Big plans a plenty.  When we arrived the first big surprise awaited us.  After wading through the throngs and snatching our bags off of the carousel,  we stepped out into the chilly, and (surprise) windy Chicago late afternoon.  Rusty had made most of the arrangements which included a white, stretch Hummer limo to ride in style from the airport to the hotel.  What a great idea!  The rush hour traffic was horrific, so lounging in the expanse of the clean limo watching a DVD of 30 Rock instead of cramped in a smelly taxi with an itchy footed immigrant whose major grasp of the English language was the invectives and curses he hurled at the surrounding cars and drivers, was an excellent start. In addition, once we got to the Hotel Sax downtown, he waited while we checked in, dropped our bags off with the valet to take them to our rooms, then took us to Charlie Trotter's for the 7:30pm reservation I had made on the ride from the airport.
