We´re in GERMANY! We caught a 2 1\2 hour train to Köln and we love it here! Kevan´s admiring the nice cars (still an ever-present lack of Jeeps) and I´ve finally realized that knowing a little German can get you a long way. Our to-do list got slightly altered yesterday. It´s hard to keep to a plan when you´re passing statues of pirates and clowns on the street, begging to have their picture taken (beside you of course.) We did make it to the Anne Frank Huis, a sobering reminder of the world´s harsh history. If planning to visit it, ensure you´ve checked out other facets of Amsterdam first as other sights seems secondary after viewing the brutal past.

The Heineken experience was closed by the time we made it to that part of town however we did stumble upon the opening night of `Un longue dimanche.` - a French movie premier in Holland. Some drunken Dutch men were trying to help us get on to the red carpet but apparently being Canadian isn´t good enough!

Also during our day, while at the *greenhouse of higher education, we learned that a snowboard can be made entirely out of hemp. And you thought we´d do no learning on our trip :)

Today, we explore Köln with one walking map and a camera. Should be interesting...

Tomorrow, we fly to Africa. Still feels like a dream.
