I can't believe it has taken so long to get here! What an amazing place! To a certain degree it really reminds me of home, we are in a luxury 5 star hotel and the world in the streets outside are filled with hundreds of people trying to make a living the best they can. Often sitting and cooking in the street.
We started off with a tour to Ngoc Son temple, very interesting. I saw the cutest little boy, he was quite shy but waved when he left with his mommy - got a lovely photo of him.
We then went on a Cyclo tour through the old part of the city - that was so fascinating! It is really an experience seeing traffic that never stops, everyone just goes around each other. Charles would love it because they all just hoot all the time. We spent about an hour going through town and I found it quite exhausting - sensory overload!
We then went to see the water puppets which was really entertaining and fun. I had read about it but couldn't really figure it out until I saw it.
After that we went for diner at a Vietnamese restaurant, Bronwen you would be so proud of me - I ate my whole meal with chopsticks! The dinner was delicious! After the strange looking and tasting food in Malaysia this was fabulous!
A little bit about the group I am with, we are ten in total all ladies except one husband. I feel quite sorry for poor Dick surrounded by nine bossy and opinionated women. Sue and I get on very well, she is a French lady who lives half the year in France and the rest of the year split between her children in SA and USA. The other ladies are also very easy to get on with, all of them really seasoned travelers, I am really the most inexperienced of the lot!
My hour is nearly over so I need to end this plus I am so tired. I think my body is still trying to figure out when to sleep! Thanks for all the well wishes I got from all of you, see you soon.
I'm having a ball!!!!

Hey there - sounds like you are having a ball! When do we get pics???????? There is only one day till I am back @ work..........arggghhhhhhh! I don't remember how to work...what is work?
Susan-Lee is growing by the minute. She has started turning onto her side and drinking more and more from her bottle. I think she misses you - she makes me do sittups with her every afternoon.
How many sleeps until you are home?
Peter tried to call you to wish you well on your trip but he couldn't get through to you - did you leave yr phone @ home?
Please keep posting so that I have some entertainment at work. Enjoy vietnam!

Go Caroline
Good to see you are having fun Caroline. Not too sure about the 'water puppets' you'll probably have to explain that one a bit better. Enjoy the food over in this time zone
