Today is Tuesday, I will be leaving on Thursday for a long awaited trip to Vietnam. I am still holding my breath because 10 years ago I was also about to go to Vietnam when the trip was canceled at the last minute, I was then supposed to go in March 2008 - canceled again! I heard about this trip less than a month ago, I phoned and they had one place left which I took.

I am so badly prepared for this trip because I am still running around trying to get the last two deals I made to the point where it has been handed over.

I don't know how ambitious it is to start writing this blog. I will probably have access to computers all the time but I don't know if I will have the time to go and sit in an Internet cafe, so I am taking a small diary with just in case.

I am quite nervous about going, I bought a Lonely Planet - Vietnam in December and read it religiously and also read many blogs until my trip was canceled. So now I have all kinds of non-coherent images and stories in my head and I don't know if they are real or if my brain scrambled them up for me! I tried very hard to get back into the habit again but I have just been too busy!

I have never traveled in a tour group before and am also a bit apprehensive about that but I met the tour leader and one of my travel companions at the travel agent this afternoon and we had a good giggle about sharing accommodation with strangers. If there are more people like them on this tour I am sure it will be a lot of fun.

Wish me luck and hopefully I will write soon from halfway across the world.
