The Jacaranda City
After the Lion Park we spent 3 days in Pretoria. Pretoria is just a few kilometres north of Johannesburg and is one of 3 capital cities of South Africa. Pretoria is also called Jacaranda city, because it has a lot of Jacaranda trees. Fortunately for us they blossom mauve (purplish blue) in spring, which was when we were there. Very pretty. We stayed with Pretoria Backpackers for 3 nights. We also went to Pilanesberg National Park on a one day trip with Mike from you-to-us. Here we saw some elephants, 3 rhinos lying under a tree (too far away for pictures unfortunately), zebras, giraffes, and a really nice lion. We had a good lunch before heading back to Pretoria.
A wild lion
The last day we spent going to the Mozambique High Commission to sort out visas and going to a mall to do some shopping. We also found a post office where we had some souvenirs shipped home. It should get there before Christmas - we hope. We also bought our bus ticket with greyhound to Maputo, Mozambique - our next destination. We originally had an overland tour booked to take us from Johannesburg to Mozambique and also up to Victoria Falls via Zimbabwe. This was unfortunately cancelled because of the political troubles in Zimbabwe, so instead we decided to see Mozambique for our selves.

Byttesentralen kalder
Kos dere da - for oss alle sammen.
Klem-klem
