Sammy, Key and Christian
Sammy, Key and Christian
After the safari we spent a couple of days relaxing at Visiwani Lodge and we went downtown to an internet cafe to catch up on some blogging as well. We also got to know Key (Sammy's son) better. Key (18) is a young guy and still in school, and he is the number-one student in the Arusha in Form 3 and as we were leaving he was playing (striker) in the finals in the Arusha school football tournament. He is very talented and would like to study agriculture and business sometime in either Holland, Denmark or Norway.

As Key's mother is Finnish Key has a Finnish passport, but this also means he eligible for mandatory military service in Finland, and he had just received a letter stating he was to show up on the 15th of December for enrollment. It was bad timing as he still has Form 3 and Form 4 to go to finish secondary school - so they are hoping they can get it postponed until then.

Sammy had been a great host and we were sad to leave our little oasis, but we had to make our way to Zanzibar. Sammy and Key are such sweet people and we were very happy, we stayed there as we now have got two new friends.

We took a luxury bus from Arusha to Dar-es-salaam, which took about 9 hours. We got a daladala (local minibus) from the bus station to the city center, where we got a room at YWCA. Next morning we walked down to the ferries and bought tickets for the ferry - Flying Horse - across to Zanzibar.
