We took a 6 hour bus ride to Sao Paulo, the capital of Brazil - an estimated 24 million people live here, making it the third largest city in the world. Itīs huge!!
You can definately tell a change in temperature - we now need our coats!
We went our for dinner and Julie didnīt get a meal - which I was sharing already! It is very hard to complain when you donīt speak Portuguese but it saved us some money!!
We all went out for drinks to celebrate Vielleīs birthday (a tour member) but we managed to lose half the group because of incompetent taxi drivers! We had a great night, especially Julie - the Caipirinha are getting stronger! Two had the room spinning!!!
Our hotel is located in the gay quarter - which is quite a site and it is also very noisy all through the night (ear plugs do not work!!)
Saturday
Today we went to the museu de arte de Sao Paulo (MASP) - considered one of the best art museums in latin america. Very modern and not totally to our taste but interesting all the same.
With then attemped the metro (subway) which is very simple but is packed like the London Underground to go to the Japanese Quarter. We went for lunch and managed to order the most fantastic sushi - 7.50 pounds each (bargain!!). We hope we donīt get ill on the 7 hour bus journey tomorrow because of the raw fish!! They gave us both a training pair of chopsticks because we were struggling abit - how embarassing!! But we could eat more!
We then had a wonder around Sao Paulo and saw the cathedral which was built in 1954 and holds 8,000 people. We werenīt very impressed by the new build but it was good to see. We donīt really like Sao Paulo, it is too big and doesnīt feel safe - we canīt wait to leave tomorrow.
P.S We are loving the breakfasts - Brazilians eat alot of cake for breakfast, hence the reason there are alot of diabetics here. So much for losing weight on this tour!!!
We hope we are not boring you with our blogs but this is our record too! Iīm afraid there wonīt be any photos until New Zealand - the technology isnīt the greatest and weīre not IT literate!!
We hope you are all well - please send us messages on whatīs happening with you.
We are now going to a room party, making our own Caiprinhas!!

Hello!!
Morning ladies...
It's 9.10am on a Monday morning here in Leeds. It's cold, dull and snowed all weekend but nothing stuck!! Damn!! I'm sure you're both homesick at learning this!?
Great reading your adventures so far and look forward to reading your next entry. Sounds like you're both having an ace time and no one is jealous - honest!?
Ooh, gotta go as my Monday morning deadlines are calling me...
Keep safe xx
Nicky
