Tito Buddy and I continued our drive home via the Pacific Coast Highway, stopping wherever there was a picture opportunity.  We stopped when I saw a lighthouse; we stopped when I saw the ocean waves crashing from a different angle; we stopped when in company of historic bridges; and we definitely pulled over when we came across the chance to observe Elephant Seals.

It was in San Simeon, a beach where Elephant Seals come to breed, molt, and give birth.  At that time, the seals were molting; they were basking in the sun, occassionaly flipping sand on their backs to shield themselves from the harsh heat.  Two of them manuevered themselves over to my uncle and me, they looked at us and made a grunt-like sound.  We found it adorable and kept on taking pictures.  It was not until we were exiting the parking lot that we found those Elephant Seals were actually telling us to "back off,:  a sign read:  if the seals are looking right at you, then you are too close.

We stopped at San Luis Obispo for dinner; afterwards, it just so happens that the town holds a farmer's market every Thursday.  We walked around, bought some coffee, and headed back on the road.  Three hours later, our vacation had officially come to an end.

It was an unexpectedly exciting and extremely refreshing trip.  I got to see a different side of California and am proud to admit that this state is not so bad afterall; there is more to see here than just "Hollywood."
