After a nice relaxing time in Phi Phi we were off towards Koh Phangan for the much talked about full moon party. We had a long trek ahead of us to get there. At this stage we were all fairly uses to the boat, bus, boat, tuck tuck scenario so it was no bother to us. Craig would follow the 3 Amigos a few days later after Anne had to head back to the real world.

We hopped on our early boat journey soaked after the monsoon was acting up! The journey turned out to be a bit of a nightmare as the good old Thai tourist offices let us down not for the first time. A missed boat later and a long wait in a boring restaurant we eventaully got to the port that would take us to the magic island. On the boat over a few rebel Irish songs were sung by Irish people who did'nt know the words. Clive met his old caddying buddy from the States all those years ago, Peter, on the boat. He was responsible for some of the singing we later found out! We had previously booked a nice guesthouse in Koh Phangan which was only about a 15 min drive away from the main full moon beach. It was well dark by the time our travelling day was done so we were'nt quite sure what to think of the place in the beginning. We had planned to meet up with "Don't ya wanna know why we keep startin fires???" Dan Vard (who we had'nt seen in nearly 11months now) but we were all absolutely wrecked that night (the rain did'nt help) so it would have to wait til another day...

The next day gave us a different outlook on the place completely. ngan1

First of all, the food in our guesthouse was solid, just as well because we had'nt really anywhere else to go! We had a swimming pool (which we got great use out of) and a pool table. We were also stayin on a beach, not the nicest in the world but it qualified as a beach nonetheless.

We lazed about for the day, until the time came to catch up with Vardy. We went to the same beach the full moon party would be on to meet up. We thought it would be a good idea to find our bearings before the madness began in a couple of nights... We met up in a bar called Cactus and many drinks were had until the wee small hours. A couple of Vardy's mates were there too, Aidan and Ciaran. Donny and Clive also met up with Peter and Ganley and they did a bit of mountain climbing for some reason... It was time to head back to the guesthouse and a day of watching the golf awaited us. We had planned to meet up with Vardy and the lads again the next day, but hangovers and the fact that he was staying miles away, well the obstacles were far too great. We would have to wait until the full moon well for one of us anyways....

We woke up on the morning of the 19th July all excited about this mad party ahead. Also, Craig like Paul Daniels did his magic trick of re-appearing again.

We all got the glad rags on had a few brewskies on our balcony and got the reliable tuck tuck to the beach for the big bash. It was absolutely lashing rain, again!!! We resigned to the fact that we were all gonna get drenched so that didn't dampen the spirits at all. We got the buckets in and Craigo was only dieing to get the face paints on. He made a steal of a purchase in one of the local shops, we had green, red and yellow paint, we were sorted! After painting a few Picaso's, we all proceeded to wreck our clothes actin the eegits getting into the spirit of things! We then had another couple of buckets and the memories began to fade and the thoughts began to waiver. We all began to roam around and go to all sorts of magic places. No sign of Vardy at all. We all looked for him for a good bit but no luck. Although, Donny Lad did find out the next day he actually hung out with him most of the night (We won't go down that road). The full moon was great, there was fire shows, bars, buckets, fireworks, music, had it all. It was a night we all wont forget in a hurry. The beach was packed to capacity, we had never seen anything like it.

The next day was the typical fallout you'd expect from a main event like that. It was a whole day chilling out accompanied by cheering on Padraig Harrington in the golf ( feckin Garcia!). Well done Padraig!
The next morning it was time to GET THE BOAT.... And make our way towards scuba in Koh Tao.
