After a relatively short drive from Townsville we rocked up to Arlie Beach and found the Koala Beach Resort hostel which had enough room to put up with our small army of travelers. The receptionist was an absolute gobshite (not the first we've encountered, must be a trend) who took about an hour to get our room sorted. They were missing a key for our room but its all good says we, just want to get settled.

We went off to get food and found a gem of a place just up the road, not too unlike good ole Expensive Eds (Eddie Rockets) back home. G'mo had  a bit of a lost in translation moment trying to order his Caribbean burger. Apparently they pronounce it different over here so after 7 attempts and the rest us breaking our holes laughing were on our way. Good feed in our bellies all we need now is a place to lay the head.

Finally set we walk into our bungalow to find a Canadian squatter asleep in our room...EH I think thats where the missing key went. Apparently he'd been staying there for a few days undetected, savage! Fair play to ye mate. They're so retarded in reception that they cant seem to move him so we had a nice stranger that night, got to love the joys of traveling sometimes.

After that fiasco it was time for a good drink so the uisce beatha was bought. On the way Bones and Sarah saw a huntsman spider (yeah right, like the crocodile bones saw on the side of the road near Cairns) No one could verify if this daddy long legs existed, we'll give it to them. We then managed to muscle our way onto a good bench, safety in numbers and all that, and began a good session of highs and lows of the day. Next came the riddles and coin tricks. At first this seemed like a good idea, everyone likes a good riddle right? NO CHANCE, our brains must have been reduced to mush because we struggled. It was like watching an episode of lost on tv, basically mind f@#ked!! In fairness though the coin trick Powers showed us was pretty slick and now we all had a powerful arsenal of tricks to wreck other people heads with. Beddie Byes....
