We all arrived in Madrid at about half 11 on Thursday night with 365 days travel ahead. Too tired to do anything we checked into our last taste of luxury accomadation and got a nice feed of McDonalds...
Friday saw us get our first bit of culture with the houdini that is PANTINIR ("The greatest painter I've ever seen"). This man's work was displayed in the PRADO gallery. Craigo got in for free on the Student. We paid 6 and were not happy with his swindling... We then got to see the disappointing Ireland match... Great atmosphere in The Dubliner's bar in Madrid. Plenty of French and Irish. 6 Crona for 10 euro... not bad.
After witnessing the mighty Irish lose and having been so vocal in our support we proceeded to hit the JAGER bombs...4euro a pop... Things went from bad to worse. Oh how I wish the night had ended before here. We went to a nightclub and I (Conor) got pick-pocketed on the way home. My digital camera robbed....
The next day we, and our hangovers, took to the metro and then the Santiago Bernabeu. What a stadium (pics to follow). We then had our first visator of the trip. The man they call Ian Cairns. We are delighted to have him here and hopefully he will be with us for awhile yet...
On Sunday morning we hit the Airport at an early hour for the monster flight to Rio
I guess the moral of the story in Madrid is....
