This week is my last week at school as I'm going back on the roads of Guatemala on Saturday.
On Monday we went to an other village nearby Xela. Yesterday we went to an other hot spring named Fuentes Georgina. It was destroyed by the hurricane so they rebuilt it and they did a good job. The surrounding is beautiful and the water come directly from the mountains. It was freezing outside so nice to be in the water! I had a nice time but I think I have enough of hot spring for a while...
Last night, i went out with Peter and Miguel to a small and local bar drinking shots.

Today i wasn't going to school so with Peter and Rob we decided to go to the Laguna Chicabal. It's an other volcano but this one has a lake in the cratere. We left Xela a 9:30 am by minibus which bring us to San Martin Chile de Verde 1 group picture

. There we started walking the 7 km uphill to the volcano. Quite a hard hike has the road is very steep but the weather was sunny and warm this time ;o) We got to the entrance of the park by 11 and from there it took us 45 mn to go up the volcano and down to the lake. There were supposed to be strairs but they were destroyed by the hurricane so we had to take an other path steeper. The lake is quite small but the colours were beautiful. Peter was motivated to have a swim but we touched the water... he changed his mind! At 3200m high you can imagine the temperature. We had lunch on the rocky beach before going back up to the mirador. There you have a good view on the lake at one side and to the other side you can see the volcano Santa Maria we climbed last Saturday. Would have been the perfect day to go up! We met an american guy who is volunteer and who is helping a local team to reconstruct the stairs.
Then we decided to walk back to the village. I hurted my leg on the way back so was a bit painful but we made it allright. Tired but happy to have done the 16km in 4 hours. An other good walk!
