Trip End

My week end near the Lake Atitlan went well. For new year's eve we were around 30 people. It was a BBQ and we could dress up. And almost everybody played the game, guys dressing up like girls. Was good fun! We ate, drunk, danced and at midnight we had a firework with champagne.
Yesterday morning, we decided to go for swim in the lake just after breakfast. A good way to begin 2006! Brrrr, so cold!!! well not more than the shower :o) But suddenly i felt sick, shaking and with stomack pain. So i went to bed and spent the rest of the day in bed. A guy in my dorm was sick the night before with the same symptoms so he certainly shared his microbes with me.
After a good night, i was feeling much better this morning so i decided to leave as planned to go to Quetzaltenango or Xela. Boat then chicken bus then taxi to go to the city center. I went to the school where I'm going to start my class tomorrow. It's a small and family school and i was welcomed by Michael. This week we're going to be only 4 students so less opportunity to speak english, brilliant! The course is a one-to-one and it's in the morning between 8 and 1pm. After showing me around, he brought me to the family I'm going to stay with. It's 5mn walk from the school and i met Esperanza and her husband. They showed me around then Esperanza made me lunch and stayed with me while i was eating, trying to communicate... I'm really looking foward to start my class tomorrow!
This afternoon, I'm visiting Xela and doing my laundry.
