Peggy, Joan and I decided to go to Savannah for the day. The drive is approximately one hour, and we also had to pay the $1.25 toll for leaving Hilton Head Island. Once we arrived in Savannah, we stopped at Lady and Sons restaurant to make a reservation for lunch and then went to a municipal parking lot to park our car. We got on the Old Town Trolley Tours. Peggy had purchased tickets on the internet last night for this tour. We can also park our car for free in the municipal lot if we tour with Old Town Trolley Tours. We had good luck with this tour company in Key West and again enjoyed the tour. We were provided with lots of history about Savannah and what we were seeing. There are 24 squares (parks) in Savannah. We can get on and off the trolley all day. We got off the trolley to go to Paula Deen's Lady and Sons Restaurant. We got the buffet which included bread, light cheese biscuits, baked chicken, fried chicken, meatloaf with gravy, macaroni and cheese, rice, creamed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans, collard greens, lima beans, black eyed peas, yams, and a choice of chocolate gooey butter cake, banana pudding, or peach cobbler. We were stuffed. We eventually made it to Cathedral of St. John the Baptist which is beautiful and a shopping area on Savannah River.
