Our first stop was Highlands Botanical Gardens. Even though plants were not in bloom, we wanted to take in a hike. This is where we found snow and ice and muddy ground. Peggy lost her scrunchie on the hillside. When she tried to retrieve it with a stick, the scrunchie rolled further down. No one wanted to go down and rescue it. We left the scrunchie, and Peggy had to do without.
We travelled Highway 64 from Highlands to Franklin to see some waterfalls. The Cullasaja River parallels the road
We drove across the Will Henry Stevens Covered Bridge on Highway 64. The lattice on the bridge was brought in from a bridge in New Hampshire and constructed in 2008-2009.
Tomorrow we head home. My sister Peggy calculated the trip cost each one of us $325. That includes the condo, food, gas, and money for activities. I don't see where we identified what was our favorite part of the trip. We usually do this. Mine was the Tallulah Gorge State Park.
