The piazzas were a big hit. They were spectacular in the way they were structured and in the way they invited the people to stay and play and eat gelato and drink cappucinos and enjoy street performers... There was a bridge there that also was a major site in the city and it was known for its shops that lined each side of the bridge. These shops had the best in gold and silver and they were a tad out of our price range!
Our hotel had a contemporary feel to the rooms and was a fun place to stay and talk and have our daily devotional. To get from the hotel to the sites required a lot of walking and eventually we gave up and discovered the joy of taking a cab when the distance was more than our weary legs could take. If you notice us enjoying lounging around on a couch when we get home, you'll know why. All we've done is walk and walk some more.
Florence was fun but we decided we enjoyed Naples more because of how we fell in love with the place and the people. When you invest in people's live - especially when it's Kingdom work - it makes all the difference in the world. We kind of wished we were still in Naples doing ministry.
On to Rome!
