. We ask that you pray for our missionaries as they follow-up on each of these contacts. We covered a lot of ground this week and are encouraged that we made a difference in this place. We have done something we had not planned for but God has used us to His glory.
Pray for us now as we go to have dinner with the Worthy's and Peppe's family. Peppe's extended family does not include any believers so pray that we will open our mouths and share Jesus with them as God opens doors of opportunity. Also pray that we will be able to handle eating all of this food - a five-course meal is on tap! Can anybody say, "where is the workout room?" The food has been better than ever on this trip and we all cut way back today in preparation for tonight.
So who won the Kentucky Derby?
God is so good! Lots of connections on the campus today! Throughout the week we have had a mix of times when we connected with students and times when we struck out. "Striking out" actually wasn't necessarily bad. It helped the missionaries know which places are more viable than others. But today was one of those days when things went well for all of the team. The weather was good and it encouraged students to stay for a long time at the most frequented hang-out spots. God helped us to think of more creative ways to enter into conversations with the students. For example, one girl was wearing a Hard Rock Cafe shirt and we asked her about that and the music she liked and soon had her and her friends talking about the opportunity to learn English from Cortney. Another time we asked a girl about a school graduation taking place next door. Even as we made a quick stop to buy jewelry for somebody back home (maybe it is you!), we were able to introduce Cortney to the shop clerk. Each of these conversations led to our distributing a card or getting an email address
