We started out the day going to the Cowboys stadium to get food that they donated to Mission Arlington. We went with Clarence who is if not in his 90s - close....and knows everyone and has been with MA since it started.Clarence let us stand in the Cowboys endzone and just look. It was amazing...and the Cowboys donate food every week twice a week for MA. Generosity. Then we went to the Texas Rangers Baseball stadium and did the same thing. All in Arlington seem to know that Ms. Tillie and her team will make the most of their donations...and where to send those that need them.
Then we worked at the medical clinic, the food pantry and so on like always...but to end the day, we met with Ms. Tillie. She told us her story about how Arlington started and it was completely God. She said she could never have planned this if she tried. But the two things she said that made the most sense to us - was take the gospel to the people and don't expect them to come to you...and use the least of these. God does not call the equipped - he equips the called...and those that we deem in our estimation to be capable are not necessarily those that God is preparing...so who is it that God wants to use to make this happen....it is a different perspective and a Biblical one because God never used those that society would have deemed capable of making things happen...he used fishermen and tax collectors and people with tattoos, little money, and lots of problems as in those that built MA....
This is only a snippet of what we have learned but we will always be grateful for our time here and we will bring our experience and learning back to Crestwood...and with 2 fish and 7 loaves - God fed the 5000 - so with a team of 7 - watch what God can do....we are blessed to be part of this process.
Love to all and pray for us as we head out tomorrow for safe travel!
See you soon!
