I am writing this from Singapore airport and this computer is very strange. The whole screen is rotated by 90 degrees so it's basically on it's side. Please put all spelling and grammatical errors down to that as it is very off putting. But hey, it's free here so I guess I cant complain. Singapore is such a clean city. There is literally nothing on the streets, not even leaves, and yes there are trees. You can get fined between $500 -1000 for littering. That's up to 350 pounds. Signs in the train stations say no eating or drinking,no bombs(!), no smoking and absolutely no jack fruit!! It's a very smelly fruit - I tried it in Malacca and now completely agree with a complete ban of the honking stuff. We're staying in a hostel run by a lovely lady, Annie, who runs around after us like a loon. This would be fine except for the fact that she's 8 1/2 months pregnant and looks about to burst anytime. Trying to get her to slow down is like...erm..like well, really hard. Last night we went to Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling - pretty good considering I'm not a big fan of the old gin. Then wondered round, went to the biggest fountain in the world, which was indeed very large. The skyline in the city centre is pretty impressive, dazzling lights and huge sky-scrapers. Today, we wandered again around the city centre and took in the sights - the Merlion fountain, theatres, parks, and had to check out the amazing interior of some of the shops. Takes ages to get anywhere as it is illegal to cross the road anywhere but the designated pelican crossings, although I did notice that most locals do completely ignore this rule. So here I am at the airport, having just purchased a new camera for me ro ruin - woo hoo!! See you in Bali x
