Spurred on by the outdoor lifestyle in beautiful weather, I went mountain biking with Dave over the coastal path and soon discovered how steep the hills were
Aidan celebrated his 11th Birthday and was thrilled to have received some cards and pressies from England. He planned his day out to include: breakfast, beach, boogie boarding, baseball, tennis, pies for lunch, real tennis with dad, steak on the BBQ and all that finished off with watching a Vietnam special of Top Gear on the TV. He has never been so happy, bless him!
We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our lazy days and shiraz filled evenings playing competitive cards with Liz and Dave. We even made it on to the golf course followed by a traditional Aussie night out. This consisted of a meal at the golf club which was filled with about a hundred pokies (slot machines) a bar and restaurant. We were there the day of a meat bingo session where we bought tickets to win platters of Australias finest butchers produce. The old age pensioners cleared up and we went home with nothing.
I also had a birthday that was memorable for the fact that as I was drinking my early morning coffee, I looked out to see and spotted a dozen or so dolphins jumping out of the water in the bay in front of us. A great way to forget how old you are!
