My feelings on this trip so far are mixed. I’m so happy to be here rather than at school and seeing all these wonderful sights. No offense teachers. But that is true. I am learning a different life style and the way some people are not as fortunate as we are in Europe. Also having my Dad, Mum & Issy around me all the time is splendid! I’m sad leaving all you guys behind going to school every day must be getting tiring. I wish all of you guys could have come with me!! It would have been so much fun but I’m still having the time of my life.
My so said teacher parents are making me work very hard so when I get back I will be very smart so watch out!!!! I have written some great stories and I’m writing a very funny and humorous journal every day. My favourite subject is maths and I’m doing lots of it! Yippee!
On the streets there are lots of strange weird people trying to sell their dirty food which surprisingly people are buying
People seem to be much friendly than in Europe even though they have not got anything. The street itself is winning in mine and dads toilet competition. We even saw one next to a food stall where people were buying food! Yesterday Mum & I saw 6 ceramic urinals just attached to a wall out in the open, then 2 yards up from these a man was taking a pee in the open gutter!!!Not even using the basic facilities provided!
Instead of giving money to the people that beg we give food but they still ask for 10 rupees. Poverty is all around you in India but everyone is still looking happy. We even have to bargain for stuff like I did today to buy some little henna powders and a Buddha statue to pray with. The first price the man gave me was 600 Rs but I said 250 Rs but he said no so I said fine 100 Rs but he said he said no again so I said 80 Rs is the highest I’ll give you for it and for the sake of selling something we had a deal at 80 Rs.
The driving over here is dreadful, with cows walking across the roads and the drivers having to near miss them, because if they hit one then it is a federal crime, because over here cows are gods best friend. Here is a story for your journals, when Dad, Mum, Issy, and I were all in a tutu a cow nearly pooed on us but thankfully our tutu driver swirled out the way. Then today my fist almost went up a cows backside. In India there is a safety level, lets say my rating is 1 out of 200 i.e. no seatbelts in cars so if you crash then your doomed, and if your walking across the street then nobody stops to let you cross safely they just zoom past you like they don’t give a monkeys.
