Where I stayed
We landed in Londrina at 4:00 p.m. & were picked up by the church greeting committee of about 10 people in 4 cars who drove us to our hotel, most spoke some English, some only Portuguese, but the "Bem Vindo (Welcome)" was understood by all. We had just enough time to take a quick shower, then head to the church for the Kid Stuff program, then the regular service.
What a thrill to see that our God is all over the world! To hear our North Point music in Portuguese was truly a memorable experience! The Kid Stuff program, the church service for the children, was so professionally done, the acting & music so engaging.
After the service, we then went for dinner to a pizza place with a group of about 30 people from the church including the "speaking" pastor, Eduardo, & his family; Paulo & Kelen, the singers & band members; cast members from Kid Stuff & friends.
The pizza is not like American, it is thin crust with many different toppings, no sauce, but cheeses, chicken, beef, vegetables. The waiters come around with different varieties & you take whichever ones you want to try. They also have dessert pizzas, some with ice cream, some with fruits. Of course we had try a little of each. Everyone was so happy to have us there & were all very eager to practice their English. By the time we got back to the hotel it was around 12:30 p.m. What a great first evening & very comfortable bed! Boa noite!
