Well I made it... Just!!!!
All started poorly, missing the express ferry and ending up in the cattle class local 5 hour ferry from the Island. Picked up a travel partner, Pam, from the States looking to be part of this epic race - thanks for your Spanish I would have been in even more trouble. From there a dash to the bus station and 19 hours straight on a bus to the border. Three hours in a taxi to run the border including a payment to some thigs to avoid being "molestardo" - I have worked out my value in Columbia is approximately five Australian Dollars!!! A night in Cucata, Columbia and then the red eye flight to Bogata - making it with less than an hour to spare... WINNER.
Off to Santiago in a few moments, excited to finally catch up with Pauli who I have kept in touch with over the years since my last trip... See you soon bella
