Over the last few weeks there has been more than a few times that I have found myself humming along in my head Paul Kelly's "Every F***ing City Looks the Same" but I tell you there was none of that as we wondered the most unusual city in the world - Amsterdam...

Following a major coup at the car depot and what can only be described as a massive D-Day victory we have spent the last few nights in the Dam. Now Chad was pretty aprehensive about how he would feel about the 'Dam but last night there was a moment when out of nowhere he piked up with "If you lived in London as if you wouldnt just book out one of these rooms and come over here for the weekend, it would be well wicked" I think I laughed for nearly an hour...

Indeed although the first night was reasonably quiet, with just the minimal daily quota of beers, last night was massive. We rellocated to the Flying Pig Downtown (what a place - it hasnt changed since last time I was here, theres no where else in the world where you just pull up a seat at the bar and the bloke next to you is just quietly puffing on his pipe and asking how you are doing). Wondering around the streets of Amsterdam, admiring all the "bent / crooked" houses, the brilliant view of some lights, some trippy photos, the wealth of fast food outlets (except when we were starving) it was one hell of a laugh, more than I have laughed in months. The fact that the lights that beemed out all over the Dam were coming from Cafe Nasty was a source of several moments of nearly incontinent laughter. When i finally get some photos up you will understand what i mean by we had a small ninja that looked after our bags - dont worry at one point of the night he was moving, atleast for one of us...
