4th Nov. cont.

We were soon back on the road heading now to Langtry. Here we made a couple of stops. Firstly, at the Visitor Centre as it houses Judge Roy Bean's original home/courthouse and he was the only 'law west of the Pecos'. He had originally been the local bartender until he was elected judge. He held court in his bar and became the West's most colourful justice of the peace. The second stop was at a scenic overlook of the Rio Grande River which was where we had lunch. However, at the moment Texas is still suffering a drought and so not much of the river could be seen.
